An Aqua Blue Dream Wedding in Cabo: Alisha & Shawn at the Sheraton Hacienda Del Mar

Aqua blue is a popular color for beach weddings, so when Alisha contacted us with her vision of an aqua and light pink wedding, we knew we had to pull out all the stops to make this an event unlike any other!

After our consultation with the bride, we felt inspired to bring a truly personal touch to her beachside reception. For her dinner and cocktail tables, we used flat aqua linens with just enough sheen to add a luxurious feel to this relaxed bride’s classic beach décor.

As always, we worked hand in hand with the professionals at Cabo Floral Studio to incorporate the fresh roses as creatively as possible. In this case, we hung aqua crystals from the flower bases and utilized clear vases and votives in order to keep the focus on Alisha’s clean, crisp colors. In keeping with the theme of simple beach elegance, we left the back of the guests’ chairs exposed and used a special aqua tie only on the bride and groom’s chairs.

We loved every detail of this seaside celebration, but we think the most memorable feature was the custom blue Chinese lanterns strung above the reception area. And just when we thought we couldn’t adore them any more, the sun went down and the lanterns gave off a fun, romantic glow—a picture-perfect ending to an unforgettable day for Alisha and Shawn!

Tasteful Mexican Wedding Décor at Melia Cabo Real

Destination weddings can be a fun getaway for everyone, but most brides want to keep the celebration tasteful and stylish at the same time. For destination brides who wed in Mexico, finding a balance between the bright, traditional fiesta colors and the chic look they have in mind can require some creativity!

We did a fun wedding here at the Melia Cabo Real last year where we designed the bride’s vision of lively Mexican flair via bold yet classy wedding décor. Canadian wedding planner Jennifer Bergman says this particular bride wanted a striking, colorful palette that was still refined for her destination wedding.

Bergman states, “The bride and groom wanted a very bright and bold wedding that was still elegant and tasteful. They wanted a very fun wedding so their guests could relax and enjoy the experience.”

For this lovely outdoor reception, we used the bride’s choice of teal for the table linens. This shantung fabric with a bit of sheen keeps the look modern and trendy. When working with bold hues, it’s important not to go overboard, so the teal was used exclusively on the tables and the bright pink strategically used as an accent.

A unique detail about this décor was the chair ties, which were custom-made in a two-tone shade to add a bit more depth (versus the customary monotone ties). The floral arrangements were also multi-colored, which is an easy way to embrace the “fiesta” vibe if your own color palette is more subdued.

No matter what colors you use in your destination wedding, if you’re getting married here in Cabo, then you and your guests are sure to feel the positive energy and welcoming nature of the Mexican culture. ¡Viva México!

A Custom Cabo San Lucas Wedding in Coral at the Barcelo

Wouldn’t it be great if every bride could have her own seamstress and a team of designers to help her make every detail of her wedding just as she always imagined? If your destination wedding happens to be here in Cabo San Lucas, then we want you to know you can have this fantasy come true!

Canadian bride Cara came to our showroom while visiting Cabo for her site inspection. While we know not every bride can visit us on-site prior to her ceremony, we loved meeting Cara and having her see and touch the fabrics herself. We adore that moment when brides realize we do so much more than order pre-made linens and furniture—our design team actually creates pieces based on each bride’s vision.

Cara’s dream included a shade of coral that seemed destined for a wedding in the sand. We kept this strong hue sophisticated by using it sparingly against crisp whites and textured wicker décor. We created the coral table runners just for Cara’s event and added wide coral bands to the candles to make them look extra special.

Like many couples, this bride and groom chose to have an Imperial table where they sat with their wedding party. In order to further distinguish Cara and Jason as the guests of honor, we made an exclusive table runner with a coral print pattern just for the bride and groom’s place settings. The custom print of this runner was a darling detail made from a fabric we had just purchased in Paris.

Although we had the pleasure of meeting this bride beforehand and discussing her ideas in person, we send every bride who decides to use our services a vision of what to expect, complete with photos, pricing options and examples of similar set-ups we have done at their chosen venue. There are truly no limits when you design your event with us, which brings a whole new dimension to the planning process.

Ashley & Matt’s elegant Cabo soiree – Hilton Los Cabos

Every bride wants her destination wedding to be a unique, memorable experience for all of her guests. When it comes to wedding décor, some ladies choose bright, eye-catching colors to make a statement, while others make the bold decision to stick with classic hues. But when Washington, D.C., bride Ashley came to us with her vision of an all-white affair, the result was a glamorous celebration we will never forget!

Ashley and her fiancée Matt are well known among the young people on the Capitol social circuit, so we knew we would have to do our best work to design an impressive event for their much-anticipated Cabo wedding.

Ashley wanted a clean, modern look for her reception, which included 200 of the pair’s closest friends and family. For an event of this size, we knew it was important to be resourceful with the décor texture and lighting in order to keep the tables from looking too flat—a major concern with using only white.

We created contrast by using textured linens, and we worked closely with the florist to make sure the centerpieces stood out as well. The floral team did a fantastic job of creating two tall centerpiece designs for the round tables and a contrasting cascade bouquet for the bride and groom’s table. The lighting team at the Hilton also created the perfect shades of aqua blue and purple to keep the white setup looking fresh after dark.

The couple’s main concern was creating a good flow throughout the reception area so their guests could mingle freely with plenty of room to dance. Since they did not want a traditional sit-down dinner reception, we were able to get creative with the seating arrangement and combined oversized chairs and chaise lounges with cocktail and coffee tables. We also incorporated a few large round tables for those who wanted a more traditional seat.

There were so many unique pieces brought into the design of this reception, but our favorite by far was the one-of-a-kind sofa and sweetheart table we had custom-made for the bride and groom. We loved the table so much that we decided to make the other tables a similar Baroque style. The contrast of the bold curved table legs against the modern mirrors and clear chairs kept the vibe fresh and light, just as Ashley imagined.

This event was special to us on so many levels, but most of all we truly appreciate the trust Ashley and Matt placed in us to design their most important social event to date. We must thank Gaby for giving us so much creative control of this party, and we also send a sincere thank you to all the professionals we worked with to make this one of our best weddings ever!

A destination wedding can take months—sometimes even years—to plan. Most brides have the highest standards and are very particular about the details that go into making their wedding day just perfect. Therefore, we are especially delighted when one of our brides writes to us after the ceremony with a glowing compliment.

Like many brides, Monica had a special vision for her wedding day and she really loved the planning process. This stunning beauty wanted a Cabo ceremony that included both the fun of a beach wedding and the elegance of a stylish sit-down reception. We just knew after speaking to Monica on the phone that our event design company, Linens, Things and More, would be the perfect fit to create an unforgettable evening for this bride-to-be!

Our experience working with nearly every resort in Los Cabos allows us to specifically tailor each event to fit the desires and the budget of our couples. Whenever possible, we use as much as we can from the venue and accent their items with our own higher-end pieces. This gives the entire setting the look our brides wish for at a cost they can afford. But no matter what happens on-site, we never sacrifice quality in our planning—even if this means we must make a last-minute change to the overall design. We want our brides to feel confident knowing our sense of design will always come before any limitations their venue might have in terms of furniture and décor.

For Monica and Patrick’s reception, we used the white linens provided by Esperanza Resort and worked closely with Cabo Floral Studio to achieve the look Monica dreamed of for her reception. The tall white centerpieces really stood out against the deep violet table runners, and we made a special purple sweetheart table that further celebrated the bride and groom during their reception.

Monica was so pleased with her reception design, she wrote about us again in another thoughtful compliment:

“My experience with Suzanne and her staff is one I will never forget. The planning process and the day of the wedding was so special to me and I will be forever grateful to all of you for that. Thank you so much for everything.”

Dove gray and blush pink wedding decor in Cabo: vintage & romantic!

Our last wedding over the week end was so romantic! Jillian, the bride, wanted everything to be soft with a touch of vintage!

Her palette of color was dove gray, blush pink with a hint of  burlap…

In order to follow her vision the team of Linens, Things and More… Designed by Suzanne Morel went for a simple and elegant dove  gray tablecloth for the guest table, we designed unique napkin envelopes in a very pale pink shade, we created some chiffon cover chair for the bride and groom table and created some fun mason jars with burlap for the flowers but also for the sparklers and the table numbers….

Thank you actually to the amazing Rene Larios and his team at Cabo Floral Studio for the fresh and rustic bouquets on the tables.

Fabulous decor with Cabo Floral Studio!

Few weeks ago Rene Larios from Cabo Floral Studio and the team of Linens, Things and More… designed by Suzanne Morel pulled together a breathtaking dinner party! When we spoke in the first place about that decor Rene was telling us how he wanted to use “orchids, orchids, orchids… a lot of them!!!!” but we never expected that many! Being on this set-up was like being in a dream…

When we started working on our first wedding decor and design with Jaime at Travel & Event with Style who knew we will end featured in WedLuxe the wedding reference magazine. What a sweet couple Kristen & Jordy, and such a nice family!

Linens, Things and More…  really had a blast working with such a great team of wedding vendors. Of course Jaime Valdes-Riench for the coordination, but not to forget Ariadna and Abigail at the resort Barcelo Los Cabos, the professional hair stylists and make-up artists from Suzanne Morel Face & Body Care, the amazing flowers and dance floor by Rene Larios from Cabo Floral Studio, the great ceremony by Marco Arechiga, the music by Marcie Castro Pianist & DJ, and last but not least the memorable wedding pictures by Sugar and Soul Photography.

We all love the combination of the lime green and purple, perfect for this location!

Rustic event decor at Flora Farm: Burlap and yellow

Last Saturday the team of Linens, Things and More… and Cabo Floral Studio participated to the table decor contest at the organic restaurant Flora Farm in San Jose Del Cabo.

We wanted to have fun and we love the location! Flora Farm is perfect for everyday breakfast, lunch and dinner with its very relaxing atmosphere and its delicious food. But we also would highly recommend it for any special occasion: Birthday, Anniversary, Rehearsal Dinner, Wedding reception etc…

Considering the venue, the atmosphere and colors there we decided to bring a white wood table, with some burlap runner and cover chairs, and of course gorgeous flower designs in yellow. We love the 3 columns stand with the natural wood and the flora arrangements on top. It is ideal as background for a sweetheart table.

And guess what? We did won the prize of the most elegant table…
