Anytime a top event designer comes to town, we get excited. High-end events are great exposure for the industry here in Los Cabos. So when Matthew Robbins from Matthew Robbins Design came to Esperanza Resort this past October, we were honored and thrilled to collaborate with some of New York’s best in the luxe celebration of Corinne and Daniel’s wedding!
This lavish three-day event weekend included a stunning welcome dinner, an elegant Shabbat dinner and of course the chic wedding and reception all at the scenic Esperanza property.
Corinne and Daniel’s welcome dinner featured a breathtaking setup with silver and blush imperial tables and plenty of fresh flowers. We specially designed a blush napkin collection for this event, and we extended our off-white shantung collection to Mr. Robbins to use in his impressive setup for 130 guests.
For the dove gray Shabbat dinner on the second evening, Mr. Robbins incorporated our wooden chargers and high quality linens from our dove gray collection. We also designed a 100% cotton napkin in the same stylish color, as well as some chevron pillows for the lounge furniture at this event.
The big finale was Corinne and Daniel’s wedding day on Sunday, October 6. Their poolside ceremony was followed by a cocktail hour at Cocina del Mar and dinner on the gorgeous Esperanza terraces. We provided the white cocktail lounge furniture, including sofas and tables, and we designed special gold and champagne pillows for the lounge furniture. For the champagne and gold reception dinner, we provided the fine champagne linens, designed 100% cotton champagne napkins and created matching chair cushion covers.
The elaborate, detailed setup and décor for each of these events required a great deal of teamwork and communication among several rental and design companies. By working together, we delivered a fantastic end result for Corinne and Daniel and their families.
It was a pleasure and an honor to collaborate on these events with such detail-oriented professionals. It was especially amazing to work with the elegant stationery designed by award-winning designer Ceci Johnson. This was certainly a weekend of décor we will never forget!

Here in Los Cabos, we are lucky to have so many different venues available for events both big and small. And though we often talk about private villas being the perfect place to host an intimate wedding, the fact is that private villa rentals are perfect for hosting almost any kind of group gathering!
This week’s featured event décor is from a corporate dinner held and organized by A Matter Of Taste Catering last year at the stunning Villa Vista Ballena in Cabo del Sol. Villa Vista Ballena has more than 12,500 square feet of luxurious space with amazing views and amenities—perfect for entertaining!
Since this was a business dinner, we kept the décor clean and simple while still maintaining a stylish overall look. The result was a natural, understated elegance. The flower arrangements by Cabo Floral Studio were pretty and chic, yet simple enough to allow the natural beauty of the outdoor terrace setting to stand on its own.
Our favorite detail was the custom menu we designed with all natural fine linen napkins at each place setting. This setup was a great example of how a gorgeous outdoor setting with minimal elegant décor elements can really showcase the beauty of a private villa in Los Cabos.

As an event design company, we work with brides at all stages of planning their décor. Some brides come to us with a vague idea of what they would like, but need help creating a cohesive design. Other brides have a detailed vision that just needs some fine-tuning, and we lead them through the process of bringing their dream to life.
Bride Kayla got married at the beautiful Barceló Resort this past September. Though she knew a lot of the features she wanted for her unique, elegant wedding décor, we worked with Kayla for more than 9 months to make sure each detail was absolutely perfect.
Kayla fell in love with a past imperial table setup we did at Barceló. We adapted this look to her taste, and the result was a romantic imperial table with champagne linen and a textured custom runner that perfectly matched her bridesmaids’ dress color in eggplant purple.
Once we perfected the imperial table, we created a cake table for Kayla in the same deep shade of eggplant and highly textured linen. To further customize the reception décor, we designed special chair covers just for the bride and groom in the same unique fabric.
The addition of gorgeous flowers and accessories, which we designed with Rene Larios from Cabo Floral Studios, completed this stunning décor. With such a bold color and rich texture on the table runner, we needed to create balance with brighter floral arrangements and softer details. To achieve this look, we incorporated light-colored driftwood pieces and flowers in lavender and blush shades along with lots of greenery.
A few mercury gold candles in different sizes kept the décor romantic and elegant—which is exactly what Kayla had in mind from the beginning. From the gold chargers and special menus to the soft flowers and fresh greenery, we think Kayla’s romantic eggplant and champagne décor was simply perfect.

This October wedding at Imperial Suite Fiesta Americana proves you can have a stylish, sophisticated destination wedding without blowing your budget.
Bride Alice and her groom Joe made smart decisions about where to spend and save with their décor budget. With high-end touches used in the right places, their blush and gold wedding and reception was stunning.
This décor featured tall floral centerpieces by Cabo Flowers, gold Chiavari chairs and chargers, and flowing ivory chair ties.
The sheer chair ties featured in this wedding were a special design and a bit of a splurge, but they made all the difference in taking this décor to another level of chic.
The couple was so pleased with how everything turned out that they sent us a photo from the sweetheart table at their reception and the following compliment:
“Elsa!!! Thank you so much, everything was just beautiful!!! You’re amazing!”
One benefit of hiring a décor design company is your finished look will be a flawless integration of your colors and theme, yet no single element will be overdone. For Alice and Joe’s décor, we achieved an upscale romantic look by using soft complementary colors and textures while guiding the couple on how to maximize their budget during the design process.
Thank you Tammy and Jessica Wolff for making us part of Alice & Joe’s big day!

When most brides think of Mexican wedding décor, the words “bright,” “colorful” and “folksy” immediately come to mind. But after seeing the unique showcase we created for bride Carrie’s August wedding at Esperanza Resort, we’re certain you’ll add “chic” and “tasteful” to your Mexican décor terms.
For Carrie’s stylish Mexican décor, we kept the aqua table runner a neutral shade and instead allowed the Mexican flavor and liveliness to shine through via bright flowers and colorful cross favors on each napkin. In order to add another subtle hint of the traditional Mexican style, we designed and produced neutral custom menus with a papel picado (punched paper) look. Succulent plants and hand painted stones used as seating cards completed this classy yet colorful décor design.
We always mention how important it is to find vendors who know how to cooperate with your other vendors to ensure a cohesive look and flow on your wedding day. Carrie’s wedding was the definition of a team effort between Linens, Things and More, Gaby Cobians at Vivid Occasions, and Rene Larios at Cabo Floral Studio. Each of us had to communicate well with the others to pull off this one-of-a-kind wedding and reception décor.
We have to extend a sincere thank you to Gaby and Rene for helping us accomplish a truly unique design unlike any other Mexican décor you will see.
Turquoise is a popular color for beach weddings, and we love this color because it can be used both in fun, casual décor and for more upscale designs. In this wedding at Baja Cantina on Medano Beach, turquoise décor is paired with ivory accents for a chic, elegant seaside celebration.
For bride Brittney’s stylish beach wedding decor, we used a deep shade of turquoise on the tables and kept the rest of the décor minimal. Ivory flowers by Cabo Floral Studio added the perfect touch of softness to this bold hue. Curly willows and ivory paper lanterns tied the reception décor together and kept the mood light.
There are so many ways to use a versatile color like turquoise. No matter how upscale or casual your décor style, turquoise is always a perfect match with Cabo’s blue ocean waters and clear skies!

Wedding Cake Sweet Dreams Cabo
We can’t say enough great things about weddings at the luxurious Barceló resort in San José del Cabo. The beach is pristine, the amenities are superb and the suites are spacious and well-appointed. Even so, our favorite part about weddings at this resort is the fabulous wedding team—Ariadna and Mereya are truly amazing and are a pleasure to work with!
This wedding and reception décor for bride Tiffany featured a unique color palette, indoor and outdoor settings and a beachy yet romantic style.
As we designed Tiffany’s décor, we were careful to balance the romantic aspect of her vision with the beachy colors and desert succulents. This was not as easy as it looks, since beach colors naturally lend themselves to a casual, outdoorsy vibe.
Since her color palette included gold and blush (along with mint green and sand), we used the soft blush to add romance in the centerpieces (which happened to be her bridesmaids’ bouquets). We dressed up the sandy hue with a brand new sequined fabric on the sweetheart table. To add further romance to the overall design, we also incorporated sheer blush chair ties and hand-lettered signs for the ceremony and candlelight for a romantic glow at the reception.
Tiffany’s wedding and reception décor was the perfect combination of romantic and beachy. This design was perfect for her outdoor wedding under the Barceló gazebo and made for a lovely transition to the ballroom inside the resort.
Though not as common as an all-outdoor wedding and reception, the ballroom is a great option if you are worried about the weather being too windy or in case of rain. Another plus is that indoor events here in Cabo are typically allowed to run later, meaning your guests can celebrate your big day even later into the night!

A world away from your day-to-day worries, the Esperanza Resort is one of our favorite destination wedding locations here in Cabo. This property has everything you could possibly want for your ceremony and reception—stunning ocean views, attentive staff and picture-perfect outdoor design.
Philadelphia bride Stephanie hosted her May wedding at the beautiful luxury venue and the details couldn’t have turned out more perfect!
Stephanie was an organized, decisive bride who was happy to be involved each step of the way as we planned her romantic upscale wedding and reception décor.
Thanks to her input and our detailed execution, the results were one of our best wedding designs to date!
We customized a mirror table runner for this reception that gave the candles a unique glow. The mirror runner really accented the crisp, clean style of this table setup.
We adored how soft and elegant the décor turned out in the photos! And Stephanie was so impressed with all the details she took the time to write to us the very next day:
“Thank you so much for the beautiful day yesterday! Everything was perfect & stunning. It was everything I envisioned for our wedding day! Hair & makeup was beautiful!! I absolutely loved the linens, decor & flowers!!! We received so many compliments Thank you again for everything!!!!!!!”

“Chris and I both were so extremely happy with how everything turned out. I really can’t thank you enough for all that you did for us and our friends and family adored you!! The decor and flowers were more beautiful than I had imagined! Villa Grande was such an incredible venue. Thank you Julie for making it possible for us to book and we can’t wait to come back to Cabo again!!” –Chris and Jaime K. July 13th 2013
Jaime and Chris held their vintage ceremony and reception at a private villa here in Cabo San Lucas this July. When it comes to perfect wedding venues for smaller destination weddings, Cabo’s private villas may be the best-kept secret in town.
For this romantic set-up, we used a palette of different shades of gold, pink, coral and ivory. The floral arrangements by Cabo Floral Studio were breathtaking, and really added to the romance of this seaside villa wedding. As with most villa weddings, we were able to use the beautiful villa furniture as part of the décor, keeping decorating costs down.
When you have your ceremony and reception at the same venue, you must have vendors who communicate well and can transition your space smoothly and quickly. We are experts at coordinating with the florists and catering companies to keep everyone on time and on task—something a rental company will not do for you. This wedding is a perfect example of the organization and teamwork required to make the wedding-day magic happen, and the pictures really show how perfect the set-up turned out!
Villas are affordable, convenient, and best of all they allow your celebration to remain completely private just for your family and friends to enjoy. Since we have worked with nearly all of the private villas available for weddings, please feel free to contact us for more information on décor and design options at Cabo’s many private villas.

A chic color combo that has been on trend recently is an elegant gray paired with a cheerful shade of yellow. We recently had a bride from Canada whose vision included a modern canary yellow and silver gray color palette.
Bride April booked the popular Sunset da Mona Lisa venue for her 50 guests and wanted her stylish, tasteful seaside décor to match the gorgeous location. Since the downstairs salon at Sunset da Mona Lisa has a bold color scheme, we encouraged April to make every effort to reserve the upstairs space at Sunset Point, which she was able to do. This change of space made all the difference when it came to executing April’s décor design plans.
Most brides have to stay within a budget, and April was no exception, so we really exercised our creativity to get the most elegant décor at the best price point. Silver can be such a versatile color when it comes to wedding decoration, so we took advantage of this and provided specialty tables, chiavari chairs, sponge chargers and tasteful picture frames in silver. Also, the mirror bases for the centerpieces were economical, provided a great effect and kept with the color scheme.
After receiving a photo of April’s bridesmaid dresses, we customized a canary yellow napkin to tie everything together. We met with Cabo Floral Studio many times over about six months to make sure the yellow florals would really pop, and the photos show how perfectly the flowers complemented the overall design.
April’s beautiful wedding décor is proof that a destination bride can absolutely design her own unique wedding décor and get a chic, modern look without going over her budget!
